Steiner Endowed Lecture Series, Award-Winning Marine Biologist, Dr. David Shiffman, is visiting The University of Alabama on September 16, 2023 at 11:00 am to give a free presentation on “Why Sharks Matter: The Science and Policy of Saving Sharks” and sign copies of his book, Why Sharks Matter: A Deep Dive with the World’s Most Misunderstood Predator. To register for this event, visitors can use the museum’s online form. Immediately following the lecture at the Math and Sciences Building (Room 1001) on The University of Alabama campus, there will be a reception with light refreshments at the Alabama Museum of Natural History’s Grand Gallery in Smith Hall and books will be for sale in the museum’s gift shop for Dr. Shiffman to sign.

The presentation will be given at the Math and Science Education Building on September 16, 2023 at 11:00 am, with a book signing immediately following at the Alabama Museum of Natural History.
Admission
This presentation is offered for free! If you would like to purchase a copy of Why Sharks Matter: A Deep Dive with the World’s Most Misunderstood Predator and get it signed by author, Dr. David Shiffman, there will be copies available in the Alabama Museum of Natural History’s Museum Gift Shop for $24.95.

The presentation will be given at the Math and Science Education Building (Room 1001) on The University of Alabama campus. The street address is 411 Hackberry Lane, Tuscaloosa, Alabama 35401.
The book signing will be held at the Alabama Museum of Natural History (right across the street from the presentation location in Smith Hall on The University of Alabama campus), immediately following the presentation. The street address is 427 Sixth Avenue, Tuscaloosa, AL 35487.
