Vasant panchami/Basant Panchami is the spring festival which is celebrated with great pomp and joy amongst the Hindu fraternity. Many regions of India/Nepal offer prayers to Lord Saraswati, the goddess of knowledge and consider this day auspicious for learning new things. Parents teach their children to read/write for the first time and communities get together to enjoy delicious food.
