Join the Collaborative Arts Research Initiative (CARI) for a free performative talk by award-winning interdisciplinary artist, Ann Carlson. Carlson's work borrows from the disciplines of dance and performance as well as visual, conceptual and social art practices. Her work as a whole is engaged with flattening traditional hierarchies, and throwing off the guardrails of who gets access to contemporary dance/art experiences. She is the recipient of many awards for her work, including a Guggenheim Fellowship, and National Dance Project Award, and a Creative Capital Award. Working with more questions than answers, situated in curiosity about the present moment and the ceremony of embodied research, Carlson invites a collective musing about the power of dance and performance in relation to time, to mystery, to the land's memory, to the more than human, and to each other.
