OLLI at UA presents “The White House Historical Association and Five Chapters of White House History,” with Stewart McLaurin, UA alum (class of ’81) and President of the White House Historical Association. Free and open to the public, this event takes place March 1 from noon to 1:15 p.m. Join us in person at Bryant Conference Center or online.

The White House is easily recognized as a symbol of America, and is most often visible at holidays and official events. But the first rare glimpse into the interiors only occurred when First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy gave us regular citizens a tour. From her vision would come the White House Historical Association, a private nonprofit educational organization founded to collect and exhibit the best of American history and culture. The organization’s head, Stewart McLaurin, will join us to talk about the rich history of the White House and Mrs. Kennedy's creation of the association.

Registration is encouraged. Register at the link to join us in person or call 205-348-3000 to register to join us online.
