Understanding Implicit Bias and the Ethical Implications for Social Workers

1:00-4:00 p.m.   |  3.0 contact hours, including 1.5 contact hours of ethical content

Everyone, regardless of race, can have unconscious racial bias. When social workers and allied professionals allow unconscious racial biases, these become reality and impact our ability to make a difference and limit what we believe people are capable of. This session gives participants the necessary tools to increase self-awareness, avoid personal biases and understand the ethical implications of implicit biases when working with a diverse clientele.
