About this Event
Add to calendarThe Conservation Biology society will have a BioBlitz documenting the local biodiversity at Tanglewood, also known as the J. Nicholene Bishop Biological Station. This is a two day event involving early morning birding, general wandering for organisms throughout the day on Saturday and until early afternoon on Sunday, and night sampling for insects and owls on Saturday. This is not the first BioBlitz that has been done here, so this will be a way for biodiversity to be documented over time and over multiple seasons. Photographs of morphospecies will be taken and put on iNaturalist with coordinates of each sighting. After the event, these sightings will be evaluated to be able to compare with past BioBlitz surveys. These observations and the lists of species will be added to the record of diversity within the managed grounds. Reach out to Kevin Shaw (kmshaw6@crimson.ua.edu) for additional details.
