View map Free Event Add to calendarOn Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at 3:30 pm, Brianna Porche (Curator) will hold a public lecture on the Gorgas House Museum exhibition, Stitching Together Our Legacy. In the lecture, the curator will describe a brief history of quilt making in Tuscaloosa through the creation of the Bicentennial quilt and will discuss the importance of building community through craft and art creation.
Quilters from the West Alabama Quilters Guild, who donated their quilts to the exhibition, will also speak about their experiences in quilt making.
The lecture will be held in the Sitting Room of the Gorgas House Museum and refreshments and snacks will be provided.
Admission is free. Donations are welcome.

Location
The Gorgas House Museum is located at 810 Capstone Drive, Tuscaloosa, AL 35487, just off the Quadrangle of The University of Alabama campus (one block west of the Amelia Gayle Gorgas Library, at the corner of McCorvey and Capstone Drives).
