The CGAT program, sponsored by the Government Finance Officers Association of Alabama, is a series of courses intended to improve the professional and fiscal skills of attendees. This training is not exclusive to GFOAA members.
Purchasing/Accounts Payable is an accounting course. The objective is to familiarize the participant with accounts and techniques used to record and generate payments to specific companies or individuals for products or services that have been purchased on credit by your entity. Accounts payables are usually items that will be paid for in less than one year. This course counts as a 6-hour elective course toward the Certified Governmental Accounting Technician Certificate awarded by the Government Finance Officers Association of Alabama.
