The Mental Health Brown Bag series is a virtual lunch and learn series focusing on supporting your mental health. Each month will focus on a different aspect of mental health and feature our local campus and Tuscaloosa resources.
Adversity is an essential part of the human experience. Culturally, we are encouraged to avoid failure, loss, grief, or distress. We want our lives to be seamless and without challenge. Through the process of struggling, we acquire knowledge and skills that allow us to function at higher levels. In this discussion, we will gain an understanding of our strengths, as well as those areas of life which need improvement, leading to personal growth. By managing personal adversity, we develop tools and techniques to manage future challenges effectively.
