Dr. Anne Marshall is an Associate Professor of History at Mississippi State University, and she specializes in Civil War history. Her talk will be focused on the research behind her new book Cassius Marcellus Clay: The Life of an Antislavery Slaveholder and the Paradox of American Reform which was published by University of North Carolina Press in September 2025 and is a finalist for the Lincoln Prize.
