Universities Against Cancer is a non-profit student organization here at The University of Alabama. Our mission is to provide financial support and education to those affected by cancer. With this event, we plan to not only raise awareness of just how many people are affected, but we also want to create an engaging fundraiser. The event would involve selling white paper bags to individuals for them to decorate with the names of those impacted by cancer. Once decorated, these bags will be placed on the Quad and an electric tea light candle will be placed inside of them. At this point, members of the public and student body will be free to walk the Quad and observe all of those who have been affected by cancer on Sunday, Nov. 12th beginning at 6 p.m.
