Introduction to MATLAB – Monday, 09/20 from 3-4:30pm @ Rodgers Library Scholars’ Station

MATLAB is a programming language and computing environment that supports a wide variety of functions and workflows associated with STEM research. MATLAB can be used to create data visualizations, render 3D designs, create user interfaces, implement algorithms, and much more.

 

In this introductory workshop, attendees will learn how to:

  • Navigate the MATLAB graphical interface
  • Use MATLAB functions
  • Work with variables and arrays
  • Plot data
  • Construct conditional statements and loops
  • Write scripts to automate basic data analysis

 

Setup Instructions:

In-person or virtual attendees that would like to use their own personal computers to follow along with MATLAB during the workshop should install MATLAB prior to the workshop. The University of Alabama has a site license to MATLAB, available from the Office of Information Technology website, for Windows, Mac, or Linux. In-person attendees are also welcome to use the provided workstations that will have MATLAB installed, no specific setup will be required.
