We will be celebrating the 79th Indian Independence Day on this particular day as the mark of India getting independence from British colonial rule. This will bring the Indian community at UA to come together and celebrate the importance of freedom and fundamental rights along with remembering the martyrs who fought for India. The event will consist of hoisting the American National flag followed by the Indian National flag along with singing both US and Indian anthems. We expect about 60-70 people to join this celebration which will include both UA students and faculty members. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided at the event.
