View map Free Event Add to calendarOn Saturday, October 19, 2024 from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm, come join us at the Gorgas House Museum for some family-friendly fun fall festivities! We will have turnip carving and decorating, as was the tradition before pumpkins became popular in America, along with apple-related activities and snacks! Families are also welcome to tour the Museum, which will be fully decorated for Halloween, featuring our new exhibit Mourning Matters: Grieving and Etiquette in the Antebellum South and Further up October 15th. Costumes welcome!

Admission is free. Donations are welcomed and appreciated.
Location
The Gorgas House Museum is located at 810 Capstone Drive, Tuscaloosa, AL 35487, just off the Quadrangle of The University of Alabama campus (one block west of the Amelia Gayle Gorgas Library, at the corner of McCorvey and Capstone Drives).
Parking
Parking in University of Alabama campus parking lots is free at the time of the event.
