The University of Alabama Gallery presents its summer exhibition, Tony Sturgis – Pulse & Color, June 2 – July 28, 2023. The public is invited to a reception for the artist during Tuscaloosa’s First Friday Art Walk, June 2, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tony Sturgis paints intensely hued layered and textured abstract paintings embued with cathartic, healing qualities. He holds a BFA in studio art from the University of Montevallo and works full-time as a Lieutenant Firefighter Paramedic with Tuscaloosa Fire Rescue. He is represented by Beverly McNeil Gallery in Birmingham, Alabama.

The University of Alabama Gallery is an essential part of the education and development of UA students and our community. Admission to the gallery is free. The gallery is located in the Dinah Washington Cultural Arts Center at 620 Greensboro Avenue in Tuscaloosa. It is open Monday through Friday, 9 am-4 pm and First Fridays 12 noon-7 pm.
