About this Event
751 Campus W Drive , Tuscaloosa, AL, Tuscaloosa, AL
https://ua.campuslabs.com/engage/event/9586451The Indian Students Association of Tuscaloosa (ISAT) is delighted to be back this year with one of the biggest festivals on campus, Diwali. The new moon night from Kartik (fall) month of the lunar calendar when lighted up is the perfect time to celebrate the victory of light over darkness, good over evil, knowledge over ignorance and unity in diversity. In the past years, Diwali has been celebrated on campus and attracts hundreds of people, especially UA students, who share this festival by immersing in Indian culture. Last year, over 600 people made their presence to enjoy the cultural activities, dances, songs and delicious Indian food. Adding to this was the show stopper fireworks towards the end, echoing the tradition in India. This year also, ISAT would like to celebrate Diwali with the same enthusiasm and a bigger crowd to bring the UA community closer by giving them a wonderful experience of mouthwatering food, groovy dances and songs, heena counter, photo booth and a sparkling fireworks show at the end.
