About this Event
Add to calendarThe Crimson Conserve energy competition, hosted by The Department of Energy Management, will be underway October 17-31!
The objective is fairly simple: make trivial adjustments within your residence hall to reduce water and electricity usage... such as turning off unnecessary lights and taking shorter showers. We will be posting tips regularly to The Department of Energy Management social media accounts (@UAEnergyMgmt on IG and FB) and around campus.
We will also post daily leaderboards to our Instagram and Facebook Stories that indicate which residence halls reside in the top five. Once the two weeks conclude, the hall that has reduced the greatest percentage of BTUs / square foot will be awarded a celebration and a prize that can be enjoyed by all residents!
Whether or not you are a resident of the winning building, participating in the competition and interacting with our social media can grant you the chance of winning great prizes. We hope you will partake in the fun!
*To aid students in their conservation efforts, we will provide opportunities for them to exchange fluorescent or incandescent bulbs found within their residencies for 1 LED bulb, free of charge! For more information, please visit our social media or reference the Light Bulb Swap Event also submitted to UA's calendar of events.
