Most federally funded grants require you to submit a Data Management Plan or a Data Management (DMP) & Sharing Plan (DMSP) as a part of your grant application. With difference between funding agencies and quickly changing federal policies, it can be difficult to know where to get started and find the information you need.

In this workshop we will cover:

  • What is a Data Management Plan
  • Brief introduction to the Research Data Lifecycle
  • What Policies cover and apply to your research
  • Tools and resouces available to you as a researcher at the University

The session will be followed by a 30 minute Q/A and open lab time to ask questions and get started on your own DMP.

About your Instructor: Brittany Waltemate is the Research Data and Geographic Information Librarian. She can assist you with help creating DMPs, finding appropriate metadata formats, and with research data management and curation. If you have any questions about this session, please contact her at bgwaltemate@ua.edu or schedule an apppointment with her for one-on-one consultation.
