The Certified Governmental Accounting Technician certificate, sponsored by the Government Finance Officers Association of Alabama, improves candidates' professional, administrative, and fiscal skills through a series of courses. The next class offered in the series is Fund Accounting on July 19, at Bryant Conference Center in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

Course Description: The Fund Accounting course objective is to familiarize the participant with the process of recording financial information that groups resources into funds based on their source and any limitations on use. This counts as a 6-hour core course toward the Certified Governmental Accounting Technician Certificate awarded by the Government Finance Officers Association of Alabama. The Fund Accounting course is a requirement for the GCAT certificate.
