UA BTMOC would like to host a “Multicultural Event” to help address a disparity in the registry. When joining the registry, a patient is more likely to find a compatible match with someone from their own ethnic background. The odds of finding a match as a white person are nearly 80% while the odds diminish for individuals with diverse backgrounds. We are aiming to partner with student organizations from diverse backgrounds to collect as many swabs as possible from February 1-2 on campus.
