Dr. Bruce Berger, former chair and professor emeritus of Advertising and Public Relations, has published his debut novel, “Brothers Bound.” Berger will share stories from his own experiences and how they shaped the characters and plot of his novel. 

Berger drew from his own experience while serving in the U.S. Army’s casualty branch in Vietnam, writing hundreds of death notifications to mail back to families awaiting their soldier’s return. This was the beginning of his long career in communication, working for 20 years for two global corporations, The Upjohn Company and Whirlpool Corporation, before joining academia. He taught communication and public relations for 17 years at Alabama and was founding director of The Plank Center for Leadership in Public Relations.
