Beyond Bama leads service-learning trips during fall, winter, and spring breaks, focusing on community-identified issues like homelessness, food insecurity, disaster relief, and poverty, to name a few. These trips concentrate on community assets and are centered around reflection, and many students have transformative, life-changing experiences as a result. The goal of these trips is to serve alongside community members while learning about how they tackle a particular issue, then afterwards become involved with service within our own communities. Many students really enjoy these trips, and most come out of Beyond Bama trips with lifelong friends.

Join us in New Orleans as we serve the community through hands-on environmental projects, including oyster shell restoration and Mardi Gras bead recycling.  Along the way, we will explore the city's rich history and vibrant culture, with time to enjoy a ghost tour of the French Quarter, a flat-boat swamp tour, and other exciting ways to experience the city's unique spirit.
