Learning how to disseminate re
search information in poster presentations is an important skill to increase scholarship and networking opportunities. This Zoom workshop will cover basic components of creating poster presentations for conferences including branding standards, formatting, layout, digital formatting, and printing opportunities on campus.
This workshop is tailored to students and junior faculty looking to create posters for academic presentations and conferences. This session will focus on creating posters that clearly relay information and use appropriate UA templates and graphics.
We will cover the following:
Brief intro to creating a poster template in PowerPoint Locating graphics and brand colors Formatting and layout tips Digital poster capture Printing poster costs and campus facilities Traveling with your poster
Attendees that want to follow along should have PowerPoint and internet access.
About Your Instructor:
Dr. Lauren Holmes is an Assistant Professor and the Assessment Librarian for University Libraries at The University of Alabama. Dr. Holmes earned a PhD in Educational Research from The University of Alabama in 2016. Her skills and research interests include research design, quantitative methods, and assessment.
