ACDC serves three unique audiences:

  • 1) ACDC is a rare opportunity for job market doctoral students to present their job talk in front of faculty from around the country, receiving high-quality feedback before official interviews.

  • 2) ACDC is a space for junior students to learn what an effective job talk should look like, participate in CV-building workshops and research round tables, and hear from faculty panelists who have been through the market preparation process before.

  • 3) ACDC serves EVERYONE (students and faculty!) in making new connections and building camaraderie between schools.

The registration link below is for ALL participants—faculty, job market candidates, and students. On the link, you can identify your interest in being a faculty member panelist, a candidate giving a job market presentation, or a doctoral student attending without a presentation. More information will follow for each category!

The conference begins on the evening of Friday, September 19th, with a social, and the majority of events take place from 9 am-5 pm Saturday, September 20th. We are attaching a draft agenda to this email for your reference.

If you have any questions or need more information about the conference, please contact Jiani Fan (jfan15@crimson.ua.edu) or Majid Rahimi (mrahimi@crimson.ua.edu).
